Abstract
A dashboard, with visualized indicators and charts, plays an important role not only to support the pandemic situation but also to enhance the sustainable development of a smart city. Both public and private sectors such as policymakers, firms and investors can use the information to define goals, assess values and impacts, and support decision making. Furthermore, citizens demand a user-friendly presentation when it comes to accessing data for daily references.
However, the challenge of selecting the most suitable indicator framework is evident, as it requires domain knowledge. To help Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) initiate its city dashboard, this paper states the approaches, metrics, views, graphs, and methodology behinds to make life in the city safer, smarter, and more sustainable. There are six categories are presented (Traffic and Transportation, Environment and Weather, Living and Health, People and Education, Government and City Management, Economy) to cover comprehensive concerns for city operators and its citizen.
During the journey of Smart City transformation, this paper provides guidance for city managers and policymakers to build a measurable, approachable, sharable, and utilizable dashboard. On top of the dashboard are living reports, results and achievements will be visualized transparently and higher accessibility for citizens. Since we have seen the Covid dashboard during the pandemic situation, everyone regularly monitors all the statistics, charts.
